Project Test Field

To extend the research and development capacities in the parabolic trough sector into higher temperatures, the project "High-Temperature Test Field" was launched during the second half of this year. To obtain precise measuring results in regards to the high-temperature resistance of various components, the test field was equipped with a variety of measuring instruments and sensors. This makes it possible to detect and to document any changes that the system configuration undergoes while gathering important facts and drawing the appropriate conclusions. For example, various absorber coatings or the behavior of different heating media (water or thermal oil) can be studied. By means of the elaborate piping system of the installation, it is possible to measure and to utilize each of the five strings individually. Thus, different configurations of the individual strings can be tested and analyzed.
