We are a young, highly motivated team that is dedicated to the most current topic of producing renewable energies. Our focus is on generating process heat with the aid of concentrated solar power. At the center of this technology is our parabolic trough system smirroTM, which stands out by its smartly detailed concept and its extraordinary structure. We can say with pride that its wide range of applications has caused an international sensation. The smirroTM system is suitable for all industrial processes where steam is utilized or where it is possible that generated heat be converted into cooling energy and thereby used to support cooling processes. Additionally, it is even possible to use the heat for conditioning water or, as can be expected from a renewable energy system, to generate electricity using the appropriate accessories. At the start of the year 2010, Smirro GmbH, along with its associated companies, moved to the new company building of the Thomas Preuhs Holding. The innovative energy concept of the building, which generates more energy than consumed by means of its photovoltaic system and parabolic trough collectors, is a real-life example of renewable energies in action, reflecting the innovative strength of all the companies of the Holding.
